IFTA 2020: Wins for SSVFX and Features & Drama

IFTA wins for VFX and Features & Drama for We Have Always Lived in a Castle, Rosie and Blood

Congratulations to the nominees and winners of the IFTA 2020 Awards hosted by the Irish Film & Television Academy Sunday night on Virgin Media One at 10pm.

Deirdre O’Kane hosted the virtual IFTA 2020 Awards featuring some high-profile international guest presenters. We’re delighted to announce that our brilliant Features & Drama and VFX departments were among the winners.

Congratulations to writer Sophie Petzal and directors Lisa Mulcahy, Hannah Quinn, Maurice Sweeney & Laura Way who won ‘Best Drama’ for the Virgin Media crime thriller Blood. We had the pleasure to work closely with Ingrid Goodwin throughout the two series and the full post-production was completed in Screen Scene.

Warm congratulations also to Paddy Breathnach on winning ‘Best Film Director’ for Rosie produced by Element Pictures. We were honoured to work with Paddy on the film that was post-produced here in Screen Scene.

Finally, we would like to congratulate our colleagues Ed Bruce and Nicholas Murphy from SSVX on winning ‘Best Visual Effects’ for We Have Always Lived in a Castle. The competition was exceptionally tough with SSVFX managing to achieve all four nominations for their work on HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 8, The Favourite, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Stacie Passon’s We Have Always Lived in A Castle.
