The anticipated Channel 5 four-part miniseries Intruder makes its debut on Irish telly this Thursday on Virgin Media One.

The series opens with a panicked phone call, a hysterical Elaine Cassidy pleading with the emergency services to send an ambulance. Her sobs are punctuated with scattered details of a party, her husband (Tom Meeten), a break-in, a stabbing, and a death. Over the course of the four episodes, tensions continue to soar as the boundaries between self-defence and murder are blurred and a costly transgression shatters the idyllic fantasy of this coastal home.

Intruder is set in the UK, though the landscape may be familiar to viewers as the filming took place around Howth and Wicklow. A number of Irish actors join the cast, including Helen Behan, Seamus Moran, and Elaine Cassidy in the leading role.

The miniseries is produced by Clapperboard Studios for Channel 5. The final edit was completed at Screen Scene, with Alan Collins serving as post production supervisor. Donal O’Kane carried out the grade while Warren Dowling completed the online edit. Ken Galvin handled the audio mix.

Intruder airs on Virgin Media One this coming Thursday the 13th of May at 9pm. Catch the full series on Virign Media Player.
